Laura & Justin - London Engagement

It’s always great when a couple takes me to a location that they’re familiar with. They’ve already got certain spots in their mind, places that they’ve envisioned as their backdrop for quite some time. That was the case during Laura and Justin’s engagement shoot. Laura frequently runs along the Mill Pond near London, so she knew how perfect the setting would be. With a bit of walking and exploring, Mill Pond did not fail to impress.

With the light peeking through the trees, and the simple flowers that surrounded us, it all fit so well with how effortlessly their love translated on camera. Not one smile was unwarranted with these two - their love, their laughter, their overall happiness was the most natural of everything I captured during this session. Things run so smoothly when a couple is so comfortable with each other, even when a camera is present.

I can’t even imagine the photos that we’ll get during their wedding in Mexico next year. With such a beautiful and fun couple, it’s no wonder that my excitement level is through the roof!

Here are a few shots that stood out as my favourites this time around :)

Amy & Geoff - New Hamburg Engagement

Amy and Geoff's engagement session was on a beautiful evening in June. Baden and New Hamburg have great backdrops for photos, from old buildings to beautiful greenery and a quaint little waterfall. I shared so many laugh's with this couple, every smile was genuine. And I'm moved by the sincerity of their love for one another. :)

Here are some of my favorite images from their shoot. Can't wait for your wedding in August, Amy and Geoff!

Darcy & Mike - Woodstock Engagement Session

I’ve known Darcy since high school, so when she asked me to do an engagement shoot with her and Mike, I was thrilled! It’s hard to remember what Darcy was like before I saw her with her fiancé, because they just seemed to be made perfectly for one another. These two were absolute naturals in front of the camera. When a couple shares so much love for each other, every pose is so heartfelt and real.

We were so lucky to be able to make use of their friends farm, everywhere we looked was a beautiful backdrop. From the barn to the cornfield, the private pond to the colourful forest - this location did not fail to impress! Even the birch trees added their own unique element. Working in such secluded areas as this really helps to make the shoot feel more intimate and special. Despite the cool weather on Halloween day, we managed to avoid any rain during the shoot.

I love the sense of coziness that this season can bring to photos, and this engagement session was no exception. It was a blast working with this amazing couple and I hope you enjoy their photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Michelle & Tom - Guelph Campus Engagement

Wandering around the University of Guelph campus with Michelle and Tom felt like taking a stroll with a couple of friends. Finding humour in the initial struggle to land a parking spot and having to steer clear of the dozens of graduates who were onsite, only added to the laid-back feel of the shoot. Their little canine pal, bundled up in a fall sweater, was exceedingly photogenic. And their smiles represent how much we all genuinely enjoyed our day spent amongst the vibrant colours.

I have the honour of shooting Michelle and Tom’s wedding in the Dominican Republic next April, and I’m so excited to see what incredible moments await us there. Even more fun to be had with these two! Here are my favorite shots I selected from this awesome engagement session.

Meagan & Colton - Whistle Bear Wedding

On October 10th I had the pleasure of shooting Meagan and Colton’s wedding at Whistle Bear Golf Club. Perfect weather, no battling with insects, and jaw dropping colours - all of the reasons why I love fall weddings!

The immense amount of dedication and hard work was evident in the DIY decor. Not a single detail was missed or out of place. What stood out to me throughout the day was the impact that the colours had in every aspect of the wedding. The way that the wine coloured bridesmaids dresses were carried through to their bouquets. How the cupcakes and centrepieces were representative of a truly Canadian fall. And, possibly the most memorable for me, how Meagan and her daughter Scarlett shared the same breathtaking blue eyes.

With such a beautiful couple, my job as a photographer was made a little easier. And the love that Meagan and Colton displayed every time they looked at one another was almost tangible. Being able to feel the happiness a couple shares just by looking at their photo is priceless, and these two accomplished that effortlessly.

Visually, it’s obvious why Whistle Bear is such a desirable wedding venue, but working with such an outstanding wedding party made it even better than I had anticipated. They were a blast and it was obvious why each one of them had been chosen to stand next to the bride and groom on this special day.

A big thank you to the newly weds for allowing me to photograph these important moments for them. Here are some of my favourites I wanted to share with you!

Laura & John - Kitchener Engagement

I had so much fun shooting Laura and John's engagement session! Not only were we fortunate enough to have stunning light and great weather, but they also brought along their two little Chihuahua's! I have two Chi's myself and one of our fur babies share the same name - Romeo. So of course we immediately clicked and right from the very start, it felt as though we'd been friends for years. I could really feel the sincerity of their love, some of the shots look like truly stolen moments, as though they forgot the camera was even on them. Im very excited to be photographing their wedding next August! Here are some of my favorite photos from this beautiful shoot!

Christine and Brad's engagement shoot took place at the beautiful Kariya Park in Mississauga a couple weeks ago. Holly & Will - Rustic Woodstock Wedding

Holly & Will's gorgeous outdoor Woodstock wedding took place on August 22nd, one of the nicest days this summer. I loved the gold and white theme, it tied in beautifully with the vintage decor, not a single detail was missed.. and better yet, the entire wedding was DIY. I cant get over how perfect the location was, we didnt have to leave for anything. We had beautiful fields, a barn, a pond and an awesome white wooden fence as backdrops.  My favourite part about this wedding was the brides dress! Holly made her dress entirely by herself and she looked absolutely stunning in it. The bridesmaids are also very crafty, they all made their beautiful dresses as well, using gold sequin and satin materials.

I'm so lucky to have photographed yet another friends wedding and see every moment through my lens. I was also able to work with my favourite makeup artist Justyn McCaskie Make-up, she did such a beautiful job on Holly and herself and I highly recommend her for a brides big day.

All in all, it was a picture perfect day and I couldn't be happier with the final result.

Thank you to Devon C Photography and Ryan S for shooting this wedding with me, here are my favourite moments from this awesome day!

Chris and Emily's wedding was such a pleasure to photograph, it took place on August 1st at the Hampton Inn Hotel in Brantford. The weather on this day turned out to be great, after weeks of sweltering heat, we had perfect temperatures, and although it started raining in the morning, it quickly cleared up during the day. Thank you both for having myself and my awesome second shooter Devon C Photography to capture your special day. Also a big thank you to both of you, your family and wedding party for making us feel so welcomed and comfortable through out the day. Candice & Jarrod - Kitchener Engagement Session

You can seriously see the love between these two! When I had met Candice & Jarrod at our shoot this past Sunday, we immediately clicked which resulted in some awesome photos of them having fun and being themselves. They are such a down to earth couple and they were adventurous enough to get into the water for me, which of course made for some beautiful scenic shots. Thank you both for choosing me to capture these memories for you, I cant wait for your wedding in September! Here are my favorite's from this shoot (it was really hard to narrow it down!).

Elissa & Don - Cambridge Mill Wedding

When Elissa had asked me to be their wedding photographer, I couldn’t have been more excited to say yes. I met Elissa & Don through a friend of mine a few years back and have already shot a few different sessions with them, have you seen their awesome Lakeshore engagement session? Not only are they a gorgeous couple, but they are one of the most down to earth, easy going couple’s I know. We had such a blast shooting their engagement session in Toronto a couple of months ago, and even more fun during their wedding this past June. The wedding was held at the beautiful Cambridge Mill, this is such a perfect venue for a wedding and the food here is amazing. All the staff coordinate everything perfectly to make sure the bride & groom’s day runs as smooth as possible. I can definitely see why this is such a popular location. Thank you both for allowing me to capture your beautiful memories and becoming great friends through it all! Here are my favorite photos from Elissa & Don’s wedding.

Alexis & Mike - Ariss Valley Golf Course Wedding

I had recently shot Alexis & Mike’s Engagement session at the Region of Waterloo International Airport. Mike is a Pilot for Air Canada and had asked Alexis to marry him while they were flying together around the CN tower in Toronto, it was the perfect backdrop for this awesome couples e-session. Their wedding took place on June 6th at the Ariss Valley Golf Course & Country Club in Guelph, both the ceremony and reception was held at this beautiful location. I highly recommend this venue for weddings as everything went so smoothly and its perfect with all the different areas around the course for beautiful photo opportunities. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Berezuk on your marriage and thank you for allowing myself and Devon C Photography to capture all your special moments throughout your day. Here are my favorite images from this beautiful wedding.

Emily & Chris - Paris Engagement Session

Last week I photographed Emily, Chris and their pup at Bean Park in Paris for their engagement session. I love when couples bring props to the photo shoot, it always makes their images so unique. This awesome couple had brought a canoe with them which made for some really romantic photos, and I absolutely loved the natural location that they chose. Thank you both for such a fun day, I cant wait to photograph your wedding in August! Here are my favorite images from this engagement shoot

Alexis & Mike - Waterloo International Airport Engagement

Mike is a Pilot for Air Canada and on September 6th, 2013 he took Alexis in a Cessna 172 plane to Toronto and proposed while they flew around the CN tower. The plane they were engaged on was also part of their engagement photos.. How cute! When they had told me their idea to go to the airport to take their engagement photos I was already so thrilled, but to be able to walk around the hangers and photograph in and around planes is an amazing experience! These photos seem to remind me of movie scenes. You can really see the love that these two share, I absolutely adore them. Thank you so much Alexis & Mike for giving me this opportunity (and allowing me to sit in a plane!). I had a blast shooting your engagement photos a few weeks ago and had an amazing time shooting your wedding this past weekend. Wedding photos to be posted in the next couple of weeks, for now here are my favorites from this unique engagement session.

Sharyl & George - McMaster Hamilton Wedding

This beautiful couple tied the knot on May 9th, 2015 in Hamilton. They had two ceremonies, one being at the Alumni Hall at McMaster University, the second ceremony took place at the St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral. Both of these locations were stunning inside and out.  The reception took place at a beautiful venue called Carmen’s. The decor was all white with a touch of daisies and yellow, everything was absolutely gorgeous. Thank you both very much for making myself and my second shooter, Devon C Photography, feel so welcomed and for allowing us to capture your special day and having so much fun doing so! Here are my favorite shots of the day.
